Yeah...

But I'm hoping it's a spring shackle that
needs to be tightened down or something
easy and inexpensive, even if it's a few
cracked leafs (leaves?) or something not to expensive, hopefully?

With me (on my old PO'd MGB) the
forward fastening at the left rear
spring had become separated from it's
attachment at the rear of the driver's
floor. Metal work...then....

it had to be welded back "on" while the
car sat on a frame machine to be sure
all was done "straight". The rest of the
car and engine was in good shape at the
time so it was worth doing back then,
more than 25 years ago. Had that car
for a long, long time, equipped with a stock 5 main bearing '67 engine
that
just wouldn't quit!! Put God knows how
many miles on it before the engine finally
gave out (along with requiring floor replacement finally, so I sold it
and
replaced it with a '72 I de-smogged and
ran "ventilated", in all respects.

Did a valve job while upping the CR to
10.0-1, leaned it out a bit to compensate
for "ventilated" rather than "evacuated"
ventilated the fuel cap and filled up with 100RON leaded.

Turned the key and drove away on
a new set oversize Michilins bought on sale at a local Sears...great
car!! :)
