I'm an electrical tach kinda guy considering I went over to an
alternator
and negative ground but as I recall...
the mechanical tach has a little gearbox
attached to the generator? Maybe the
problem lies within? I know these little
gear boxes require lubrication but eventually, the gears must wear and
replacement is in order?
