I drove an Anglia earlier this year that absolutely stock/concours. I drove
gently apart from that one time when I really opened her up in 2nd. Unlike
any stock A-series that does get there but never seems willing you could tell
it really wanted to REV. I think this is due the oversquare engine design.
Cosworth founded their business on tuning the Anglia engine before they went
on to build their own 4 cyl engines beginning with with the FVA, BDA and on to
the vee 8 DFV.
