Arrgghh! Stupid Car -- 2 days later

Thanks fer all the suggestions. Two days later, after replacing the
fuel filter, the Midget is back running great even under hard
acceleration (sp??). One down.

The wierd noise is also gone. Probably youse guyz is right, a
pebble between the rotor and brake shield.

In any case -- all is well. It's a beautiful North Carolina day
for top-downing back roads.
