Ron...

It's the "forest" more than the trees I
am talking about here...the general increases required by the whole
system...

I should have said "corporations involved
in the medical business"...not corporations
generally...my oversight, Ron. I apologize
for not being specific enough in my post
and causing a misunderstanding. My bad.

My point is the system as it is, is going
broke. The cost of medical insurance is
(as you say) going through the roof. For
those not "corporately insured", it is becoming less affordable for
sure. And
as you point out, this is obviously becoming so for corporations in
general as well.

Thing is, when you add up ALL "user" fees
(sales tax, registration/licensing fees, personal property tax, water
tax, sewer
tax, tolls, city, state and Federal income taxes, etc.) the real tax
rate for the averge
Joe is somewhat close to 48% according
to some authorities. Does this not approach the tax rate of the average
joe
in "socialized" countries, who seem, in
a lot of ways, to be offering more bang
for the buck not only in medical benefits,
but in unemployment benefits and other
human factors programs? I mean, every
"way" has it's pros and cons for sure, but
generally speaking, the Australian system
fr'instance seems to be one of the best
I know of thus far.

I mean when it gets to a point where
Doctors are getting out of the biz 'cause
they can no longer afford to "stay in" and
make a reasonable buck, the system is
obviously in deep doo-doo.

If not corporately insured, what is the
average family of four paying in premiums
for a reasonably decent insurance policy, including dental, etc. and the
type of
coverage required for growing children,
etc.?

I mean, our government even taxes
unemployment insurance for God's sake!
And provides for only 26 weeks (plus 13
week extension at this point I believe) in
an obvious more or less jobless economy,
while the average joe in pay a "real" tax
rate of approx. 48%???

Something is definitely wrong with this
picture if those supplying "the facts" are
anywhere close to being accurate.
