alrighty folks! i'm gathering a load up for the plater right now! i am
offering you a chance to get in on this load as my stuff does not constitute
a "load" by the plater's standards.
either cad and color(wich has a gold tone) or cad and clear (wich has a
bright silver tone) can be done on iorn or steel items.
stuff like bolts, lug nuts, engine pulleys, generator adjusting brackets,
timing covers, valve covers, oil pans , original hardware for restoration,
bowden cables for heater controlls, grease caps for front hubs are all
excellent prospects for this type of finish.
hydrogen embrittlement is a problem with all types of plating! the plater
is aware of this and bakes all items to relieve this!
evrything must be grease and rust free! if you send it ready for plating ,
glass bead blasted finish is preferred! why? the glass beads polish the
surface during their cleaning the surface as opposed to sand wich horribly
distorts the surface (along with a beginning of case hardening of the
surface) wich yeilds a poor finished piece. if you do not have equiptment
for degreasing or bead blasting i can do it for an hourly rate! (but i'd
rather just offer you the plating! as opposed to hours of bead blasting
stuff!)
if you are interested i'm gathering items now for an early december delivery
to the plater! contact me directly as not to burden the list with the
incidentials of this?

chuck.
