Under Penalty of Law . . .

Greetings to All:

One of the parts catalogs says ". . . caliper halves should never be
separated. . ." in their disc brake parts section.

Well, my Sprite calipers have been separated. Is separating calipers into
halves a sin something like removing the tag from a mattress?

Oh, well. Now they have to go back together. The bolts are marked GNK LOC S
and WILEY S, two of each. I don't know if the PO changed a caliper or if
one bolt of each type is used in each caliper. I think the important things
here are to use locking bolts (probably new ones) and to properly torque them.

Has anyone BTDT and if so, what torque did you use? What other helpful
hints do I need to know about putting the calipers back together. How hard
can this be? It's just four bolts.

Tim
