LOL, Cyrille...

Of course you can make fun of Mercedes...God knows somebody
should!

For the rest of it I am LMAO, and present
you with a true story wherein tailgating
became the only way to go! :)

A long time ago, I commuted up to
ALB where I was based at the time
flying for Piedmont Regional. I had
to get up there for an early departure
and the aircraft I was going to commute
on the evening before had a mechanical
in LGA. Last flight out got cancelled and
no way to get there from here, by air.

So filled the Vizardized '74
Spridget up and headed up the NY
Thruway at just below the speed of
sound and checked in at the airport
Comfort Inn.

Did the trip. Snowed all day from a line
bordered on the South by Binghampton,
Newburgh, Kingston, Hartford and east
through Boston.

Headed South back to Stamford via
the NY Thruway...pretty well plowed
but still snowing lightly with less
falling snow and accumulation as I
proceeded further South.

It's after 6pm, snowing, cold...and
it's black as night usually is and.....
all the lights fail 5 miles South of
ALB (or maybe it was
just the headlights. Long time ago!).

I "tucked in" right behind an 18 wheeler
and stayed there for two hours or so,
'til we hit Newburg where little snow, good
roads, plenty of light and a large hot,
black coffee awaited....changed fuses.

(There was no short. The new fuse and lights worked fine for many years
thereafter).
