Boy...

I wish I could say I disagree with you but
honestly, I don't. I love this place and
most especially what it was when I grew
up in it.

Over the last 30 years I've seen the airline
biz go to hell. I have seen uncontrolled
immigration erode wages for the average
worker (and do it's share in generally
dumbing down the country as well I am afraid), this money now shifted to
the
stockholder/owners. CEO pay and benefits are ridiculous when compared
to average worker pay...just out of sight.

I could go on and on but I'm not going to
'cause quite frankly, it's depressing and
you've pretty much said it all anyway,
Bud.

In NYC, "social promotion" is alive and
well, 75% of students failing their math
and English exams, grades 3-8 yet, 95%
of them graduated to the next grade!!!!

Of course, as the population generally
dumbs down, they as a group become
much more easily manipulated by
government and politicians and thus,
more easily "controllable".

IMHO, the USA is slowly going "3rd
world". Will it "turn around"?? I dunno
and quite frankly, I'm on the downside
anyway and could leave involuntarily
leave this reality at any time.

I'm glad I grew up when I did, during what
I consider to be this country's best times,
at least for kids. Wouldn't wanna be a kid
today, for anything. I don't envy today's
kids one little bit. The history they are
taught today is mostly "PC", having little
to do with what I was presented with as
this country's history, back when I grew
up.

"Saving Private Ryan"? Who cares!!

Well....I do and I always will.
