Yes--the old style is beefier, quicker, and in my opinion much better-made.  
The later style has thinner tie rods, and everything just seems to be lighter. 
 If you go from one to the other, though , you must reverse the spacing piece 
behind one of the brackets.   Either will fit either car but you must change 
the tie rods too.
