That's a big concern to me. Seems to me we have won very little, yet have
polarized a large segment of the world's population. Among that segment are
primitive, fundamentalist people who are more than happy to buy a one-way
ticket to heaven killing an infidel. I think the Israelis have proven you
can't beat this approach with an army. Is the Patriot Act the beginning of
our own Israel-West bank wall? As for standing up for ourselves....right on!
But why did Shrub deflect us from our efforts in Afghanistan? Why did we
stop our efforts there rather than finish the job? Is it true Osama is
running a convenience store outside of El Paso?

Just when I think I'll stay out of this s**t....

I personally think we have won a lot. At the very least, we have fewer
countries to worry about arming and aiding the terrorist segment. Afganistan
will
have a US presence for who knows how long, but I think that's a good thing,
and ditto for Iraq. Notice how Quadfy (SP?) and N. Korea have come into line?

I don't think those folks hate us one bit more now than they have for many
years. No you can't beat one determined individual with a army. We know that
since the Ford Theatre. But, it's not the single poor individuals I am worried
about. It's the organized groups supported by rich individuals and rouge
governments that worry me.

The Patriot Act? Name one citizen of the US, in the US, that has had to
suffer any negative effect of the Patriot Act. I worry more about the gun
grabbers trying to take our rights and protect us from ourselves and inantimate
objects than I do the Patriot Act.

President Bush has not deflected us from Afghanistan. If there were news
stories there, you can bet CNN, and it's clones would be in your face every
evening with every thing that goes wrong...not much about anything going right,
but
suck one...nevermind.

I don't believe we have stopped any efforts there.

And finally, NO, Osama is not running a convenience store outside of El Paso,
he has a motel in Iraan, TX, some 200+ miles east of here.
