You don't have to pull the axle to swap the diff.  You would need to remove
the wheels and pull the half shafts out just sufficient for he inner ends to
disengage from the diff.  Undo the the rear prop shaft connection and the
ring of nuts around the diff to axle casing.  Swap out the diff complete.
Drain and refill the oil at the appropriate stages!
Probably need a new gasket but you can make one from thick paper.

Or swap the complete rear axle unit.
