Hi Folks,

I just dismounted a tire from a wire wheel. As I was cleaning it up I
noticed some letters that were stamped on the inside of the wheel rim at
the 10 (or 2) O"clock position (depending on how you face the wheel) and
assuming the valve stem is at the 12 O'clock position. The letters are:

RSM - the letters are about 3/8" tall and

X458 at the 12 O'clock position and nearby

4J something. A bit of rust obscures the rest. This I believe is the wheel
size.

Is the RSM the manufacturer?

I bought these wheels (and other stuff) from a guy who crashed an MG
Midget. The PO, or someone along the way, used duct tape to cover the spoke
nuts. What's the net wisdom on using duct tape on wheels?

Tim
