After seeing the recent thread re: 4-1 header I realize I should have a
muffler on the 1500. I have a Pacesetter 4-1 with 2" back to a coffee can
type affair. Since getting the Weber DGV finally dialed in I notice a
serious lack of low and mid power. I could use some input on mufflers to get
the correct backpressure and see if that helps. I kinda like being loud but
if it runs better, so be it.
As long as I'm asking, I have also had it cut out on the last 2 Sunday
drives in the mountains. It is tuned for 5k and the hills were 6-7k,
climbing, when she just cut out dead. I nursed it up the hill bucking like a
damn bull with a rope around his balls and once I crested all was fine. I'm
pretty sure it's not fuel and it was getting warm, up to 190. I am thinking
ignition mod getting hot and cutting out? If so, some suggestions would be
appreciated. Budget is limited but I'll do what I have to. This time of year
in N. AZ, I cannot be without my LBC!
TIA,
Jim

BTW- I replaced the coil w/ Pertronix 40k last year.
