IMHO....resist the temptation, Chuck.

Avgas...not a good idea unless...

you're talking the really good "purple"
stuff of 115/145 ("lean/rich") RON and
even then, the volatility of avgas is
and blending of avgas is very different from auto fuel, considering the
very
different applications.

Fr'instance....

Avgas is designed to work at different
atmospheric pressures from sea level
through 18,000 feet, wherein pressure
is 50% of what is found at sea level.

Avgas is designed for the relatively low rpm's of aviation piston
engines that spend most of their time at "static"
power settings ("115" octane number above for normal cruise in
"auto-lean", popular in WW2 piston engines, the "145"
being the detonation point of the gasoline
in "auto-rich", the combat setting wherein
full or "military power" was required
and wherein sudden acceleration/
deceleration might be the case)
most of their time in cruise and are not
designed for the continual varying of
rpms (loading/unloading).

The blend is designed to absorb the
load of accelerating propellors including
the large type associated piston engines
of the WW2 and post WW2 (including airline) era.

How the foregoing "load" compares to
accelerating a motor vehicle I am "not
knowing". We'll have to wait for Ron Soave (local list rocket scientist)
to figure
this one out! :)

As you know (and you really do!:),
the CAM2 or TurboBlue auto stuff is
designed with motor vehicle racing in mind and blended accordingly. As
is
AVGAS for it's application.

Blame the Arabs for ruining your fun,
Chuck!! Matter of fact, you can blame
our greedy oil companies for not "fair
sharing" with the Arabs in the first place,
which most likely led them to
nationalize THEIR resource and kick
our greedy corporate asses outta there!
