Yes, Dave...

You have been out in the sun too long.

However, in this case you are spot on!!! :)

Oil seals on the intakes (vacuum), nothing
on the exhausts (oil cools).

You will get some oil into the combustion
chamber, most especially with longer
duration cam profiles but, this is all part
of the plan!

Alternatively, you can fit seals onto the
exhaust valves if you wish. I think Guy
Weller of the UK had occasion to do this
in the case of a long duration cam in
a situation wherein the valve guide clearances allowed for a little too
much oil
into the combustion process to the extent
he was experiencing a really smoking 
exhaust. Solved his problem.
