Fellow listers,
I have contemplated many things over the last few days as emails about
Robert's daughter Melanie circulate; the unexpected loss, the unimaginable
pain the family is dealing with, and the desire within us as friends,
aquaintences, and total strangers feel the need to try and help in some way.
It touches me to be a part of this community.

I ask that everyone look in the mirror at this time and ask these questions:
Are there any fences I need to mend?
Do I have a will, and Is my will up to date?
Do I have any/enough life insurance to provide for those I might leave
behind.

I am only (I stress ONLY) 43 years old this week. My daughter is 5, my wife,
35. It is very common to feel like these things won't happen "to me". Yet I
am keenly becoming aware that tradgedy is not only possible, despite my can
do, cup's half full, positive outlook; it is actually probable, sooner or
later, bad things happen to good people.

I can answer the questions above.
No broken relationships that I know of; life insurance on myself, my wife, and
my daughter, a notorized will.

If you can't, as a tribute to Melanie, & her family, I hope you will make the
changes needed.

A stranger and a friend
David Riker
