try going to a flooring shop and ask for "bus runner material". why-O-why
you ask?
the black ribbed material used often in the center aisle of busses is
nearly identical to the original door liner for bugeyes. it only comes
in "black". if you choose to paint the stuff , wipe it down with enamel
thinner(gets the moulding solvents and release agents off it), and after
that has dried completly wipe it down with a scotchbrite pad (to slightly
rough up the surface to give the vynal dye something to"bite" to)before
spraying marhyde or a similar vynal dye color material on it. you'll
beat the pants off the resto material cost and get the very color you want
without "paying too much fer dat muffler" (LOL)!

real close to the original, but it only comes in black. It is even pretty
in expensive too. You don't need much. Orchard Supply has a good stock of
it if you are in their neighborhood, a large chain store in CA.
