spridgets in the movies

By accident, I saw the beginning of a movie on TV called 'Houseguest' with
the star of the movie being one of those one named persons.  Within the
first 5 minutes, there was a spridget on the screen.  It was very
dilapidated and followed by blue smoke, had the trunk pushed in and panels
of various colours.   I didn't see the rest of the movie.
