I run a Hayden fan in front of a stock radiator with a 1275. I put the
sensor in the water line coming off the top of the block. It has been running
about 195 on 100 degree days in town. Nothing to write home about - but much
cooler than when I was running with my old yellow 4 blade high impact plastic
fan.

Here is the unit I use to allow the sensor to feed from the hot water coming
off the block instead of the radiator. It does turn the fan on earlier.
