It was a wonderful weekend! Especially for the Littlefields. Our cars
were running well, with only some niggling problems, like Pam's rear
brake shoe disintegrating. We started and finished every race and mostly
up in the front. Pam was doing extremely well against some cars with
higher performance motors, but unfortunately went four-off a couple of
laps before the end of the second-to-last race. The subsequent stop and
go penalty put her back in the pack for the final race.

We still did well, though, as I finished fourth and she finished sixth in
the final. Unfortunately, some of that was through attrition as a fellow
Midget driver decided that "All Triumphs Must Die!" and punted the
third-place Spitfire into the weeds. That left only one other
non-Spridget contender in FP, another Spitfire, who was a couple laps
behind the leaders. The front-running Bugeye driven by Pete Sandy
decided to take a spin around Turn 8(?), also known as "The Bitch," and
so ended up finishing 5th, between me and Pam.

The weather was great! Very sunny, though windy and cold in the
mornings. Just perfect racing weather.

Pam and I also won best in show at the Saturday night costume contest,
dressing up as "Buddy and Judy Palumbo go bowling in the 50's." You'll
have to have read Burt Levy's books to know who the Palumbos are. It
means a free race weekend entry, no small thing since we usually pay
double entries!

Glad you could come, Charlie, sorry we didn't have time to chat, but race
weekends can be rather hectic. Even though we usually have only 2 or 3
20 minutes races a day, keeping up with two racecars can be very
time-consuming.
