Check the alternator, idiot light bulb.  That light's needed to excite the
alternator fields at start up.  When light goes out, alternator should be
charging fine.

IMPORTANT!!  Alternator equipped cars, IDIOT light must be lit before the
alternator works upon start up!!

Are you experiencing any flooding around your place?
