That has happened to me also, and I wasn't happy about it but felt lucky
that I had a car.

I tend to prefer the smallest car that meets my needs.  When my daughter was
born, I got a minivan so we could deal with diapers and so forth while on
trips to visit the grandparents.  It was also real handy for camping trips.
I sold it when I didn't need it anymore.  Years later I bought a Jeep Grand
Cherokee 4x4 which we have used quite a bit for trips to the mountains in
Colorado and the rough country in southern Utah.  We still have it and my
wife drives it.  I drive a Ford Taurus SHO, which I like because it will
carry myself and 2 coworkers, or my family of 3, and I can put lots of stuff
in the trunk.  In fact right now the hood from my Midget is in the trunk.
