Has anyone on the list actually put a modern Japanese engine into a spridget?
I'm considering replacing the Datsun A14 motor in my wife's Morris Minor with
a more modern power plant. The Spridgets have about the same length and width
clearance issues as the Morris and take all the same A series motors.
It would need to be 4 cylinder, around 100HP, computer controlled, fuel
injected, and suitable for rear-wheel drive.
So far I've focused on the Mazda 2.0L DOHC motor and trans.
Thoughts, suggestions?
Save the originality arguements since this Morris had the Datsun engine in it
when we got it. Its my wife's daily driver and I would like it to be a
turn-key-and-go motor that will have no trouble running air conditioning.
