I had that problem in my old Mitsubishi.  I took it to a friend and he said
that the plug was not on tight enough.  Apparently the threads had gotten a
bit stripped in the pan and I wasn't tightening it, for fear of stripping it
completely.  Make sure it is seated all the way.
