Bud, you don't really think that thing is for stopping, do you? Nope, 
the "emergency" it could help with is rolling down a 3 percent 
incline and your engine has no compression. THAT's the emergency.

As for the turns, you throw the brick in front of the front tires!   Duh  LOL
