OK, So I was gong to pick up # 3 son at school, I am heading down the
main drag when the Bugeye loses all power. Coast off the side of the
road and fiddle with it. It has fuel, there is fuel in the clear
filter (Pump must be pumping as filter is downstream of pump), manual
actuation of pump causes fuel movement, I pull the distributor cap
and check to see if the points have closed up, nope, they're fine. I
try to start the car, nada, just won't catch. I think flooded, so I
open throttle all the way and try spinning the engine to clear the
cylinders. After a bit she catches and with the carb at WOT will now
run at 1000 revs, building slowly to 2000 revs and cycle up and down
of about 300 revs.. rrrrrr RRR rrrr RRR rrrr RRR. Through some
fancy clutch work I manage to get home at a whopping 15 mph with what
looks like a really rich soot pouring out of the tailpipe. At this
point I am waiting for the engine and myself to cool down before I
start messing around.

Just in case, is there something obvious that Bugeye's do or should I
assume that there is something going on with the carb letting WAAAY
to much fuel in?

Thanks all,

Lester
