Hello spridgets,

sometimes its simply amazing how much a tiny change can have a huge
effect. i made a run to Astoria today down US 30. there are some
major hills along this route, and all the passing zones are in these
long uphill (if you live on the east coast you'de call 'em
mountains--out here they're just hills--FLAME SUIT ON) sections. the
last time i made the run i'de hit 'em at 65 mph and gradually slow
down to 50 (in 5th gear)..and have to downshift to 4th to get back
  up to 60 mph. .......

having a crane unit and NGK BP6ES plugs, and having consulted the
list a while back, i opened the gap up from .025 to .030. i examined
the plugs BEFORE and they looked dark brown, like just at the edge
of too rich.. acceptable, but not spot on... the run i made today, i
could climb them ALL at a speed of no lower than 55 mph, in 5th
gear. looked at the plugs in astoria and again back home, and they
look darn near perfect. just slightly brown, more ashy grey. ..

  must picked up some HORSEPOWER!

  too neat!.. THANX ALL!

Best regards,
Bill mailto:pythias@pacifier.com
