I am still running the stock crossflow in my 1972, but I went to an electric
fan with adjustable temp switch with a pickup that mounts through the fins
like Frank's. As he says, mine was at Pep Boys. I set mine for a little
higher than the thermostat opening temperature so that the thermostat
controls engine temperature by itself until it actually needs the fan.
