Exactly like Ron says.
It takes 20 minutes to either break it or break it in.
If it's gonna blow, let it happen at home, in the garage.
1000 miles at at set rpm or speed only build ridges in the cylinder 
walls which can cause the top ring to break when you do mash the throttle.
So do it now and change the oil and filter after those first 20 minutes.
I have never had a problem with a rebuild doing it this way.
Think about this.... You just rebuilt your $10,000 dollar race engine, 
it's race day, you can't just tool around the track at 3000 rpms.
