Breaking news. . . .
The official state food of Michigan is now the pasty.

(On the web a "pasty" is often spelled "pastie" and some of you guys
have been thinking about female body parts instead of food. Take a
deep breath and re-focus!!)

The pasty originated in Cornwall, England and is a "self contained"
meat and vegetable pie wrapped in a crust. Miners could readily carry
a pasty with them into the tin and copper mines and reheat them on a
shovel over their miners candle.

Pasties would be an appropriate food for the upcoming Thicko's event
at RA. You can get them from (where else) www.pasty.com and they will
be fresher than Peter's potato salad.
