I am going nuts again trying to figure out WHAT is causing a sputter,
a major sputter or high rev miss.
69 Midget (BABE rally car) 1275, stock with SUs.
It runs perfect and will wind up real nice with no problems unless you
stomp on it and tach it up over 5000 Rs between shifts.
Then is misses and bad.
I did find the loose rivet on the coil, I changed coils and thought the
problem was solved. Nope. Changed the points, still there.
I retarded the timing cause it felt like it was over advancing with the
vac advance. No cure.
It is not carbs becuase I tryed pulling the choke during the miss, it
does not change and it's only there if you floor it and wind it up.
Driving it like an old lady and it never misses a beat.
Carbs have oil.
I did not swap out dizzys yet, that's next.

Larry, did you guys have this problem on the rally?
