No doubting your repair skill.

I'm just of the opinion that it's the type of item you can live without for a
while until you find the right type of tach.

But I do appreciate the link to the speedo pdf.

Can't help you on the brake re-locate.

Dean, have you no confidence in my repair work? :>) My brother sent me this
link with lots of good info:
o;?http://home.comcast.net/~rhodes/speedo.pdf Amazing how similar tachs and
speedo's are. The needle on mine was clearly lubricated
from the factory. It's kind of waxy and might be whale oil. I will definately
follow his advise on setting the pointer needle.
Looks like the accuracy over the dial scale is controlled more from spring
tension and magnet strength so it would seem they are not
interchangeable unless you swap magnets or springs. Peter C. can you get new
rubber gaskets for these things?

Next question: I'm darn tired of that damn handbrake poking my leg. Anybody
have any tips on relocating it to the right side of the
tunnel? I think it was a cruel joke played on us LHD types by the Brits who
designed it. Notice the RHD models still have it on
the left away from the drivers leg!
