My sprite has a Jaeger mechanical drive tacho, but there is no drive gear for
the dynamo end. Has anyone out there who has modified to alternator who has
the original gear drive for a dynamo going spare ?
I'd love to have a working tacho in the car, if not I might resort to
fitting an electrical one from a 72 midget , which all the purists will take
delighty in telling is wrong !
Apparantly the Jaeger mech driven tachos were only fitted to bugeyes for a
short period of time. The rest of the instruments are also Jaeger - the
speedo reads about 50% faster than I'm actually doing. So I don't know what
differential is fitted . I believe the morris minor smooth case gearbox had a
1:1 top gear like the frogeye , so the mismatch comes from the diff I
presume.
Anyone ?
