Mike.
>I was with Terry Horler and Andy Smith at the SPRIDGET50, both are quite
knowledgeable about sprites and midgets.
I was querying the dating of my car because of various anomalies.
I believe it was Andy that said about the instruments and Terry didn't
contradict.

Certainly it was Andy that identified the various bodywork quirks like the
single gusset by the front suspension mounts and lack of strengthening member
from the rear axle tunnel to the rear of the trunk making it a very early 1958
car.
Terry stood by and we continued chatting as Andy ferreted about under the
bonnet and boot.
The windscreen surround is of the later 2 stud variety from around 1960,
Somebody has fitted a later more watertight version. Because the other bits
are hidden, the car appears to be a '60, and it has been re-registered as
such, but really it's a very 'early 58.

counter have 'grooves' in the central silver part. The Midget Jaeger versions
were plain silver colour.

for the rev counter if anybody out there has one spare !

Hi Alan,

Where did you get the info that you are quoting that the Jaeger guages were
used on Bugeyes? All of the sources that I have read or know about state
Jaeger as only being used in the "upscale" MG Midgets.

Thanks,

Mike Carpenter
