I like to forget to drain the gearbox oil. It's not as confounding as a
ground strap pulling the car with the motor up toward your engine lift.
But it still meets the need to do at least one really stupid thing every
time I work on the car.

Is it the same thing as when you leave the snaked through various parts
of the chassis and body so at to make it nearly impossible to replace
$185 speedo cable attached to the gearbox ?

It was many years ago and I am still upset so I know what happens
also.  It was not a Sprite that is why the cable was so expensive but I
bet its the same as a Sprite ground strap minus some choice words of
course because Spridget owners never cuss themselves out for doing
something stupid.
