Thanks to all who responded. We have decided to go with MS Word and output for
the web in PDF format. Anyone that would be willing to be the newsletter
editor probably has Word and most people already have the free PDF reader.
Word provides for just about any form from plain text to as complex as you
want to get.

As Larry Macy suggested I would recommend using MS Word (or MS Publisher)
and utilize insert section breaks (insert | break | section type .. continous)
where appropriate to change from using 2 or more columns to sections using the
full age width. MS Word can create some very polished, professional looking
documents.

Then you can simply "print" it to a PDF Writer (a virtual printer that
creates aPDF file instead of paper output). CutePDF is a good FREE (even for
business use!) PDF writer that we used company wide at the last place I did
corporate PC support.

A benefit of the PDF route is that the newsletter will always look the way
you intended irregardless of what software the end user may be using - unlike
web pages which, despite attempts at "standards", often display differently
from one machine to the next depending on what opearting syste and internet
browser is in use! PDF files are often also much smaller which is helpful for
archiving old issues and especially enjoyed by those people still using
dial-up internet connections!

For the benefit of those users who may not already have a PDF file reader
installed (seems almost everyone by now has Adobe Reader installed though!)
you should also provide a link to one of the free PDF readers. I personally
have the full Adobe Acrobat software installed (side effect of my job creating
user documentation) but I use the _free_ FoxIT PDF Reader for simply viewing
PDF files as it it the fastest reader I've found.

OK, I know someone on this list will tell me what to do, not were to go

Sandi and I have been doing our club news letter off and on for the past
10
years. We have transitioned from postal delivery to web based letters. We
use FrontPage because we both used it when we worked for a living and are
    familiar with it's basic's.

We would like to pass the news letter to someone else who may not be
fully
versed in building a web page. Not a web site, just a web page.

We are looking for PC software that just about anybody can use to
construct
a news letter and post it on the web.
