I wanted to report back that I spoke with the guy from Roanoke, VA. last
evening. As David already found out and mentioned in a follow-up message, the
guy has about 45 years worth of British cars and parts, but nothing in the way
of Sprites or Midgets. Turns out he worked for Standard Triumph back in the
mid 60's, and bailed to start doing his own thing, right around the time of
the merger into British Leyland. Since then he's been a local British car
mechanic and restorer, and ran his own breaking yard as a result of that. At
one
time in his heyday he claims to have had over 100 TR3's and TR4's in his
procession. He's now down to about 12-15 good restorable examples, which are
all
up for grabs. When it comes to Triumphs, he's either had them or still does.
In addition to the 3's and 4's, his current collection includes Spitfires,
GT6's, and two TR6's which are both nearly completed restorations. The vast
majority of the cars and body shells are still out in the weather, but items
such as seats, major body parts, glass, doors, dash assemblies, suspension
components, engines, gear boxes, electrical items etc. have always been stored
in
a very organized manner in any of his six buildings on site. He figures to
currently have in stock, body and mechanical parts from over 50 Triumphs which
were cannibalized throughout the years. If there's a Triumph part you need,
this is the man to speak to. Also, he has a few Jags, and MGB's, and has just
made a deal to acquire a few cars from a guy, one being a '62 Midget. He also
indicated that he's due to start the restoration of a '58 Sebring Sprite for
a collector, but he didn't mention who it was or where the person is from.

>From the sounds of it, the guy is starting to get on in years and is
therefore looking to unload this stuff in a BIG way. I'm sure he'll still sell
the
small stuff on an individual basis, but he'd really like to see all this go
out in large chunks. If this is of interest to you or any of your friends, let
me know, and I'll put you in touch.
