OK, the engine must be grounded since you are able to crank it over.
Hook a tail light across from + to - of the coil. It should flicker 
nicely when cranking over. Should continue to flicker while engine 
is stopping if the primary side of the ignition is ok. Tried it with your 
Hitachi dissy yet? 

Better be careful or your membership card for the Eyetalian Club 
will be voided. They would be embarrassed that you can't even 
hot-wire a car.
