My '60 Frog came with a 1098 "CC" stock motor, stock ribcase box and 4.22. I
was surprise at how well it went.
Teamed it with a 5 spd and 3.7 and because the Datsun's first 3 gears are a bit
lower than the stock ribcase, lost little if anythng at the low end was gaining
in highway
cruise capabilities.
For the stock components though, depends on application. For limited access
highway cruise....yes.
But for tooling around town or the suburbs....not really because it's longer
stroke makes it pretty torquey in this respect, even with a 3.9 diff.
