I just got this link from the VW forums which will cover all car steering
wheels. The best thing about it is the many steps and photos included. Also
below is the recommended site for sending them out and having them done for
you. This guy Koch takes the wheels down to metal frame and recasts them,
although they are so expensive I'd go with a home made restoration myself.
