Ya need some analysis here. Is it an electronic tach? If so, look at
it the next time it happens. If the needle drops like a rock, the
problem is in the primary side of the ignition, probably condenser or
points, possibly a bad Lucas bullet connector somewhere. If not, then
check the fuel level in the float bowls to see if it is the pump (or
one of the Lucas connectors that feeds it, BTDT). Do Rick's gas tank
test, too.
