I beg to differ. He was really up against a case of criminal stupidity
combined with indolence.
After he buggered the head, he drilled it, then was too lazy to find
or get an ez-out, so he thought he would tap it and broke the tap.
Even if he hadn't broken the tap, just what good would a tapped hole
have done for him???
Even at that point, he could have taken a large drill bit and drilled
out the head to the point of pulling the rim off of it and using a
vice-grip to remove the stud left behind. Too many tools and not
enough sense.
