Yes; under a car is a good place to store the wheels if you've got them off
or a raised end. Keeps you from tripping over them with you hands full of

I also tend to place spare wheels and tyres under the sills (5.5" spridget
wheel and 175 tyre) if I'd doing any spannering. This is because while the
car was on jack stands I managed to rock the car such that it almost fell
of the stands.
My Spridget is lowered and so when it's on the deck there isn't room for me
to be underneath it.
