[Spridgets] torque wrench settings?

Looking at torque wrench settings for conrods and main bearing cap bolts..... 

conrod specs mention colour dyed or phosphated. 

How do I tell the difference? 

early 1975 midget 1500 engine 

everything inside the block looks like it is painted gloss black. 

All help is appreciated!
