That's a valid point.
 
With a roll bar should go roll bar padding (FIA padding is best).  In  a 
foward impact not wearing a helmet and having a roll bar without  padding 
won't vary a great deal whatever type of harness or seat belt you  have except 
perhaps for a pure lap strap which is possibly the worst.
