I'm driving a 1970 GMC 2500 Custom Camper. It's a 3/4 ton truck, with a one
ton (8 lug wheel) rear axle from the factory. It has non assisted drum
brakes, and manual steering. It's a 3 speed Turbo hydramatic and 350 V8 with
factory 4 barrel. It had split rims on it originally. It has factory "west
coast" mirrors. It has aftermarket under dash AC cold enough to hang meat.

I paid $400 years ago. It needs rockers and cab corners, and minor repair in
the bed. What's nice is its straight, as it had a camper in it, was never
used as a work truck.

A number of years ago, after 24 years of faithful service, I foolishly sold
my '53 F-100 panel. I've been looking for it on Ebay and Craigslist ever
since. If I ever find it, I'll pull the 215 straight six and replace it with
a 300" straight six and an over-drive tranny. I think that's about as
modern as a truck should get. In the meantime, I'll make due with the '66
Ranchero, but I don't think the V-8 will ever sound right to my ears.
