much to my surprise, I had insurance for that kind of thing. Or, part of it.
They paid for some contents and to repair it as it was. But, we didn't want
it as it was, so it worked out to be a 50-50 thing. They didn't renew a lot
of other people's flood insurance ( whatever it's called ). But, they renewed
mine because I did things to help prevent it from happening again ( anti-bck
up valve, etc ) and I had been active in trying to clean things up. But, I
have to say that it wasn't fun.
Doesn't sound like good luck to me...

Kissing the stingray was supposed to bring good luck. Shortly after we got
home, the tail end of Hurricane Frances ( Sept 9, 2004 ) hit Ottawa and
flooded many peoples' basements, including mine. Following that, Grand
Cayman
got hit with hurricane Ivan ( Sept 11-13, 2004 ) which wiped out a lot of the
island. The place where we stayed no longer exists. My brother-in-law's
business (www.thebutterflyfarm.com) on the island was flattened.
