Hmmm.  I had automatically assumed that brother Frank would have already
noticed a leaking rear axle seal.....................  Yeah, Kevin, that
could sure do it.
You should, however, be able to sense that it isn't the front brakes
pulling, if a leaky rear axle seal is the culprit.
At any rate, that would probably be the easiest/cheapest fix (rear axle
seal) when all is said & done.

Frank,

There is a good possibility that the right rear axle seal is leaking.  It
will cause the symptoms you describe.  I had that on the 71....  It would
leak just enough to wet the shoes in the back slightly,  after a few mile of
driving all would be fine again.
