We bought a Bosch dishwasher last year after studying the Consumer reports
site. My wife loves it. Personally, I still think it's quicker and easier to
just wash the damn dishes, but it made her happy. My biggest complaint was
that it has a default setting that beeps loudly to let you know the load is
done. It's very annoying at 3:00am. Turning the buzzer off requires some
skill with video games, but once you figure it out, it goes away. They all
seem to be built really flimsy and cheap, but it works fine so far.
Installation was annoying because the hardware is so cheaply made that you
have to be very careful not to bend or strip things with your fingers.
One other thing: When you get your coffee cup out of it in the morning, you
have to remember to turn the dishwasher off. Otherwise, it will will rewash
the dishes automatically when you close the door. It will also spray you
with water when you reopen the door to shut it off. The controls are on the
top edge of the drawer. You learn pretty quickly. I only got sprayed three
times.
